A moment @ Jonkers

Jonker Street is an old street with range of antique shops in Malaysia. Unfortunately, net generation is not aware of it. How to bring them there?

We decided to brand that Jonker Street is a shopping heaven as teens love to shop. And instead of making them go there, we will bring Jonker Street to them.

A custom-made container that will travel by helicopter from college campus to campus for our audience to experience a little taste of Jonker Street’s shopping heaven. We target to have our exhibition to start during rush hour, which is 11a.m. till 3p.m. In the container, it will contain 10 shopping carts that contain items from unique and famous shops and restaurants around Jonker Street itself.
There will be a flash mob performance for the grand opening and closing for each time the moment a Jonker arrive at certain locations. The purpose of the flash mob performance is to fully make use of the 4 hours stay of the guerrilla container at the location by making the opening and closing fun and exciting.
After everything is set up (see mock-up below)
Each person who arrive at the area of "Jonker Street", he will meet "Jonker Track" entrance interface. (Interact below)

This is a special installation media for our “A Moment @ Jonker’s”. It is to spice up and enhance the feelings of a visitor during their stay. The installation is projected by from the projectors above the container which are using motion detector to interact with the visitor. When a visitor walks in in Jonker Track, there will be designs of choices, projected following wherever he goes.

Tracks of the person will be recorded and will generate a code where by it allows the user to download his foot tracks from our website. Users are allowed to choose not to have the tracks on them.

Once a visitor leaves the area of Jonker Street, he will step on exit platform where he can choose to save his footprint.

Once saved, he will get an code to download his footprint wallpaper from the website. Also, based on the data, the program will detect which shop the visitor likes the most and give him the actual location of the shop in real Jonker Street. (See examples below)

During the 4hrs stay, when visitors go into the container, there will be Jonker Grab, a tangible interface game for them to play.

It will be projected on a transparent glass in the container and users are only allowed to go in once to play because there are free gifts to be won. In the game, according to the instruction, user will only have 10 seconds to grab what they want. They have to use their hand gesture to move and grab the items. After grabbing the item, a code will appear and user will be able to retrieve that particular item they grab and go to the specific shop that is shown after the game. For those users who did not grab anything after 10 seconds will not be able to get anything.

The website

The website includes our next locations and dates, brief information about Jonker Grab and Jonker Track.

Under Jonker Track part, people are able download their own foot track pattern using codes they have. They can also browse the gallery to see or download others’ patterns. On each pattern our machine automatically generates shop contact and address which is assumed the person’s favourite shop(s) due to the location where he spent time most.
